Submitted by James R Formato 65 jformato1@tampabay.rr.com Tony graduated Newburgh Free Academy in 1952 and received an Associates Degree from Orange County Community College in 1958. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1960. On September 2, 1962 at St. Francis Church, he married Audrey Butler, who survives at home. Tony was a member of the New Windsor American Legion, National Rifle Association, and past coach of the New Windsor Little League. Tony was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend; anyone who really knew him loved him. He was always the life of the party, and always had stories to tell. He told it like it was and pulled no punches, but you always knew where you stood with him. Tony and Audrey owned and operated Valicenti's Restaurant on Rt. 9W in New Windsor, for over 30 years. He made a mean Veal Scaloppini, killer baked clams (the cousin dozen), an awesome steak or the best fish you ever ate. He was a lifelong Brooklyn Dodgers fan, and was grateful for the 1955 season. He was also a lifelong fan of the New York Giants who he cheered on to one more NFC Conference Championship. He enjoyed hunting with his buddies, spending time with his family, and in the last few years of his life, truly enjoyed watching his grandson grow up, taking him to Renegades games and watching him play ball. We treasure every one of the days we were privileged to have him on this earth. We are all better people for knowing him and are thankful for all he taught us. In addition to his loving wife, Audrey, he is survived by his son, Anthony Valicenti Jr., and his wife, Cindy, of Cornwall; a brother, Vincent Valicenti, of New Windsor; grandson, Anthony Henry Valicenti; step-grandchildren, Ashley and John, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and Uncle Pat Tarsio.
