Message: I recall City Mgr. Mitchell wanted those receiving welfare to come down to city hall to receive their checks and if they seemed able bodied he would put them to work on City projects. Most of the locals I knew thought that was a good idea ,however, I believe he was railroaded out of office by a phony real estate deal. ( imagine actually wanting people to earn their welfare checks !! Replies to this post |
