Michael "Angelo" Crudele - Class of 1934

  Michael "Angelo" Crudele, Class of 1934, of New Windsor, a retired machinist for Texaco Labs in Beacon, entered into rest on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was 88. Son of the late Michael and Rose Cimmorelli Crudele, he was born Sept. 28, 1915 in New Windsor. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy Class of 1934, a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Catholic War Veterans, New Windsor Youth Commission, New Windsor Senior Citizens and active with the Boy Scouts, Troop #17. A family statement reads, "He was a loving and kind husband and a family man who will be dearly missed." He is survived by his wife, Helen Crudele at home, whom he married on Feb. 11, 1944 at Sacred Heart Church; a son, Michael T. Crudele of Camp Hill, Pa.; a daughter, Michelle Sprague of Newburgh and their families; a brother Alfred T. Crudele of New Windsor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three sisters, Dora Crudele, Olga Annunziato and Mary Ganino; and two brothers, Anthony and Arthur Crudele. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 6 at Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Monday, June 7 at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. Entombment will follow with military honors in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 25 S. Robinson Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550. Posted by Gordon Taylor 65 Mike Crudele was my uncle and a great man. He loved to garden and his help with Troop 17 was never ending. He and his brother Al were always there for the scouts and he is sorely missed.
