Abel "Abelito" Emilio Ramirez, a long time area resident of Newburgh, entered into rest Sunday, January 11, 2004 in Montgomery. He was 23. Son of Abel E. Ramirez Sr. and Teresa Ramirez, Abel was born January 26, 1980 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Abel was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 1998, where he played with the NFA Goldbacks. He was an employee with Broadview Networks, and was an avid soccer player. Survivors include his parents, Abel and Teresa Ramirez of Newburgh; his girlfriend, Jaymie Johnston; his daughter, Kyhanna Johnston; sister, Virginia L. Ramirez; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Antonio and Concepcion Pineda. The family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13 at the Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14 in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
