Richard A. Wygant - Class of 1965

  Richard A. Wygant of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at VA Hudson Valley Castle Point. He was 65. The son of the late Charles and Catherine Ferguson Wygant, he was born on March 3, 1947 in Newburgh, NY. Richard was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He graduated from NFA, and was retired from New Penn Motor Express. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard was one of the Jehovah Witnesses in the Cornwall congregation. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include his wife, Gail at home; daughters: Sherrie Lee Wygant of Plattekill, Alicia Vaitkunas and husband, James of Marlboro and Erika Armour and fianc, Dean Balfe of Cornwall; grandchildren: Nichole McAleavey, Nicholas McAleavey, Temperance Balfe, Matthew, Kayla, Jenna and Kierra Vaitkunas; sister, Karen Minogue and husband, Mike; brothers, Gary Wygant and wife, Michelle, and Kenneth Wygant; brother-in-law, Bob O'Neal and wife, Paula; several nieces and nephews, and his dear friend, Steve Osterhout; Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard's memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
