Thomas J. Tulve Jr. "Tug" - Class of 1965

   Thomas J. Tulve Jr. "Tug" age 63, of New Windsor, died Monday, March 28, 2011 at Elant at Brandywine, Briarcliff Manor, NY. Thomas was born June 21, 1947 in Newburgh. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Class of '65, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh. Thomas was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, having served over 35 years as a mail clerk. He loved watching and talking sports of all kinds, particularly baseball and his beloved San Francisco Giants. Thomas spent many years umpiring and coaching softball in Newburgh, making many long time friends. He was also a member of the Newburgh's Elks Club and Pastime Athletic Club. Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas J. Tulve III of Newburgh; his father, Thomas J. Tulve Sr. of Newburgh; his sister, Mary Lou Botsford, brother-in-law, Steven Botsford of Newburgh; his sister, Patricia Tompkins of Beacon; his nephew, Christopher Botsford of Newburgh, and his nieces, Dena Botsford of Beacon, and Kayleigh Tompkins of Long Island City. Thomas was predeceased by his mother, Mary Louise Ryan Tulve. The funeral will take place Tuesday, April 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 145 Benkard Ave., Newburgh, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be immediately following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry, c/o Marietta Allen, 111 Colden Hill Rd., Newburgh, NY 12550. Arrangements were entrusted to Joseph F.
