Mildred Stocks Rockwell of Newtown, CT, died February 12, 2008, at Danbury Hospital after a short illness. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Rockwell was born in Newburgh, NY on August 16, 1916, a daughter of the late George and Edith (Delancy) Stocks. She graduated from Newburgh High School in 1934 and married Richard C. Rockwell in 1936. Richard and Mildred moved to New Jersey where they managed a farm. They moved to Newtown in 1937, where Richard managed Green Oaks Dairy Farm on Hundred Acres Rd. owned by Harold Green. Upon the death of Mr. Green, Richard and Mildred purchased a farm on Brushy Hill Road also called Green Oaks Farm, where they resided for the remainder of their lives. Mrs. Rockwell was predeceased by her husband, Richard on February 14, 2006 and by her sister, Helen Stocks. She is survived by her son, George Rockwell of Newtown and by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 15, at 7 p.m. in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown, CT. Interment will be held in the spring at Newtown Village Cemetery.
