Margaret "Peggy" Palkovic Spino Class of 1930
Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 30/Jul/2012 Message: Margaret "Peggy" Palkovic Spino, a lifelong resident of Newburgh and New Windsor, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2005 at Somers Manor Nursing Home, Somers, N.Y. She was 92. Daughter of the late Matthew and Anna Palkovic, she was born on March 10, 1913. She married Romeo J. Spino on September 10, 1933 in Newburgh. Margaret was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh. She graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1930. She was employed as a teletype setter for the Newburgh News, and then worked in the library at Gidney Avenue School in Newburgh until her retirement in 1978. She is survived by her daughter, Lois and her husband Christopher of Carmel, N.Y.; and her two grandchildren, Stephanie and Jeffrey. She was predeceased by her husband, Romeo and her son Ronald Spino. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15 at Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor.
