Katy Walker Ware, a life long resident of Newburgh, NY, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 65 years old. Katy was born October 13, 1947 in Newburgh, NY. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Walker and Esther Magnolia Walker. Katy was the assistant manager of the retail bookstore at Mount Saint Mary's College in Newburgh. She was married to the late James Ware and of that union three children were born. Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Keith Ware and James Kevin Ware and daughter, Jada Ware; also survived by two brothers, Sam Walker and June Bug Walker both of Richmond, VA and sister, Doll Walker of Georgia and two grandchildren. Mrs. Ware will lie in repose from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, January 28th at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 76 First St., in Newburgh. Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church; with Reverend Dr. Bruce Davis Sr. officiating. Professional services entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Homes, 259 Walsh Ave., New Windsor, NY 12553.
