Anne Apostolou Baldwin, Class of June of 1933
Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 52 <GrammyPGH@aol.com> on 09/Jul/2009 Message: Anne Apostolou Baldwin, 93, loving wife of George E. Baldwin, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, peacefully at her home, Worthington Christian Village in Columbus, OH. Anne was born on June 30, 1915 in Gardnertown, NY. She lived in Newburgh, NY most of her life and was a dental hygienist in her professional life. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church and Middlehope Methodist Church. In retirement, she moved to Ft. Myers and then Lakeland, FL and eventually moved to Columbus, OH to be closer to her family. She will be missed by her family and friends who loved her dearly. Anne's passion was her family. She lived her life to the fullest, with a zest for life, determination and feistiness as she showed when she drove cross-country to marry, George, the love of her life. Anne was the ultimate family woman who cherished spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was generous, giving, genuine, faithful and humble. She loved spending summers at the shore with her family, eating lobsters with everyone, spoiling her grandchildren and laughing while recalling old stories. She enjoyed and was an accomplished cook, particularly with Greek cuisine, seamstress, quilter and card player. Besides her loving husband of 68 years, she leaves behind three daughters, Marie Gerhardt and her husband, Richard of Circleville, OH; Barbara Lopinot and her husband, Harold of Newburgh, NY and Andrea Michael and her husband, Tom of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, Christine (Lopinot) Melagrano and her husband Pete; Kara (Gerhardt) Ross and her husband, Jim; Richard Gerhardt and his wife, Lisa; James Lopinot and Nicholas Michael. She also left six great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Lauren Melagrano, Ethan and Noah Gerhardt, and Alexa and Aedan Ross. In addition, she leaves behind one sister Marian (Apostolou) Baldwin and her husband, Jack. A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held in the chapel at Worthington Christian Village on Sunday, January 25, at 2 p.m. (According to NFA records Anne graduated in June 1933)
