Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 11/Feb/2014 Message: Mary Maloney Bannan, a lifelong Newburgh resident, entered into rest on February 8, 2014, peacefully at her home at age 97. Mary was the daughter of Joseph F. Maloney, Sr. and Maria Kissam Maloney. She was born in Newburgh, New York and was married to J. Malone Bannan, who was the Town of Newburgh Supervisor from 1967 to 1978 and predeceased her. Mary graduated Valedictorian from Newburgh Free Academy. She was a local business woman who owned and operated Malone Bannan Flowers with her late husband for over 40 years and was a valued member of the Newburgh community. Mary was dedicated to St. Mary’s Church and served as secretary for many years. They were also members of the Powelton Club. Mary is survived by several loving nieces and nephews and their families who will miss her laughter and love of family. She is also survived by her brother-in-law John Olsen. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her devoted son John Malone Bannan, her sister, Vera Olsen and brothers Adrian Maloney & Joseph F. Maloney, Jr. The family would like to thank her nurse, Sandy Nelson and her caregivers: Salisha, Karolyn, Karen, Alisha and Lisa for their loving care. There will be a crypt service at Cedar Hill Mausoleum on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Fr. Peter Bannan and Fr. William Scafidi. On June 21, 2014, there will be a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Newburgh. Replies to this post No replies yet |
