Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 23/Mar/2014 Message: Vivian A. Avery Goodbread of the Town of Newburgh entered into rest Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at home. She was 84. The daughter of the late Norman and Anna Mary Pollock Avery, Vivian was born July 22, 1929 in Newburgh, NY. Vivian was a former and longtime active member of the First Baptist Church in Newburgh. Survivors include her sons: Drew Goodbread and wife, Donna of Spring, TX, David Goodbread and wife, Debra of the Town of Newburgh, Dean Goodbread and wife, Terri of Wallkill; daughter, Robin Stokes and husband, William of Wallkill; brother, Russ Avery and wife, Donna of Poughkeepsie; grandsons: David Goodbread Jr., and Shane Stokes; granddaughters: Beth Stokes and Samantha Kennedy; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. Goodbread in 2005 and a brother, Andrew Avery. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23rd at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd., (Rte 32) Newburgh. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24th at the funeral home. Burial is to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
