Ricardo "Itchy" Costa II - Class of 1987

  Ricardo "Itchy" Costa II, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, entered into rest on Monday, June 30, 2014. He was 45. Son of the late Richard "Bear" and Patricia (Testa) Costa, he was born May 13, 1969 in Cornwall. He married Mary Ann Costa on January 18, 2000 in Newburgh. Mary Ann survives at home. Ricardo attended Newburgh Free Academy (See Camera Shy) and recently was so proud to have earned his GED. He earned his living as a landscaper with a unique talent for poolscapes and paving designs. He was a beloved husband, dedicated father, loyal brother and uncle, and a true friend. He was always ready to roll up his sleeves and lend a helping hand. Itchy had a need for speed and loved NASCAR, driving race cars, sleds, go-carts, dirt bikes, motorcycles and anything on wheels, He was well-rounded and known to "talk your ear off" on any and all topics. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his wife Mary Ann, he is survived by his children, Ricardo R. Costa III and Patricia Rose Costa, at home; his siblings, Riki Costa and her husband Frank Cass of New Windsor, Melissa Taylor and her husband John of Newburgh and Laura Bunora of Newburgh; and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm on Wednesday, July 2 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 3 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, a fund is being established for his children's education at Orange County Trust Co. and may be sent to Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550.
