Kim Marie Stevens - Class of 1987

     Kim Marie Stevens of Newburgh, NY entered Heaven's Pearly White Gates on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. She was the beloved daughter of Gilbert Stevens and Bertha Deans, born April 26, 1966. Kim graduated from Newburgh Free Academy and worked as a waitress at Friendly's (Newburgh Mall) and was a nursing assistant at Wingate (Fishkill and Dutchess County) and Westledge Nursing Homes for 20 years. Kim was a dedicated Vice President of the Dynamic Approach Marching Band and Captain of the Pom Pom girls. She was always active since High School in cheerleading, music, dance and double-dutch. She loved people and her doors were always open, ready and willing to assist in helping no matter what the circumstance. If it was no more than a hug, she touched many people hearts with her love. She leaves to mourn are her four daughters: Takiaya Stevens, Jayniece Gordon, Tyaria Stevens and Tapria Forrest; two grandchildren: Yahinese Trice and Imani Stevens; seven brothers: Preshay Deans, Darnel, Daniel, Michael, Benjamin, Johnathan, Nicholas Stevens; two sisters: Latiyce and Makayla Stevens; aunts: Vicki Deans of Newburgh, NY, Loraine Burnett of Albany, NY, Maryanne Dixon of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Dorsey of Texas, Clarena Tajan, Joanne Marshall of Newburgh and Cordelia Singletary of Rochester, NY; also a host of cousins and friends. Kim was predeceased by her grandmother, Dorothy Carter; grandfathers, Austin Deans and Benjamin Stevens; aunts: Bessie Dubois and Wanda Deans. Ms. Stevens will lay in repose from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9th at The Cathedral at the House 127-131 Broadway, Newburgh, NY. Services begin at 11 a.m. at the church with Bishop Jeffrey C. Woody officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. Professional services entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Homes, 259 Walsh Avenue, New Windsor, NY 12553
