Cheryl Woodley Hunter - Class of 1965

     Cheryl Woodley Hunter, of Boynton Beach, FL and formerly of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on June 22, 2014 at home. She was 67. The daughter of the late Charles F. and Bernice H. (Todd) Woodley, Cheryl was born on April 28, 1947 in Newburgh, NY. Cheryl was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and worked as a Bookkeeper for A&P in Montgomery, NY. She enjoyed family dinners and holidays with family and friends by their pool, cruises and her two Cocker Spaniels. Cheryl is survived husband, Daniel Hunter, at home; her son Charles Hunter of Orlando, FL, her sister Denise Pillitteri of West Palm Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Cheryl and Daniel were long time Newburgh residents and retired to Boynton Beach Florida in 2001. Cremation took place in Florida. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on June 20, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. At the family's request, please no flowers. Arrangements under the care of Brooks Funeral Home. Submitted by Arnold Serafin 1965 <monterey1968@hotmail.com> on 06/Aug/2014 - I knew Cheryl when we were both kids going to Liberty Street Elementary School. She was with me in Mrs. Kemph's 2 grade class. I still have our class picture. What I remember most about her is when she had her father, who was the manager of the small A&P grocery market across the street, give our entire class a tour of his store. I think it was in November just before Thanksgiving. The class was really excited about getting cranberries to make sauce in individual decorated jars to take home to our parents. I always remembered that act of kindness Cheryl and her Dad gave to all of us. Every Thanksgiving after that I always remember that event. Its amazing how acts of kindness always stay with you. I will always remember Cheryl for a great memory.
