Nicholas J. Cerone, Sr. - Class of 1963

       Nicholas J. Cerone, Sr. of New Windsor entered into rest on August 9, 2014 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 68 years old. The son of the late Frank and Santi Arbore Cerone, Nicholas was born on September 19, 1945 in Cornwall, NY. After graduating high school, Nicholas proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his honorable service, Nicholas worked as an engineer for IBM in Fishkill. Nicholas was a member of the Black Rock Fish and Game Club, the New Windsor Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the Quarter Century Club at IBM. Nicholas is survived by his sons: Nicholas, Jr., of Missouri, Paul and his wife Celina of Texas, and Ryan and his companion Omaira Isaac of Milton, NY; his brothers: Anthony and his wife Anne of North Carolina, Frank and his wife Wynne of Connecticut; his loving sister, Joan Carl of Poughkeepsie, NY; his grandchildren: Grace, Sophie and Cooper Cerone; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 12 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
