James P. Bloomer - Class of 1953

    James P. Bloomer, age 78, of the Town of Newburgh, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh. Mr. Bloomer was born November 4, 1935 in Newburgh. He is the son of the late Roland and the late Gertrude (Mansfield) Bloomer. He married Marcella Del Villano. James was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked for IBM in Fishkill as a Quality Control Technician before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Marcella at home; his daughters: Marcellina and her husband, John Eng, Sr. of New Windsor and Jody Ann and her husband, Paul Makara of Garnerville; his brother, John Bloomer of Texas; sisters: Elizabeth Maher of California and Claire Flannery of Newburgh; sisters-in-law: Angie Bloomer of Newburgh and Josephine Bloomer of Newburgh; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. James is predeceased by his son, Angelo "Jack" Bloomer; his grandson, John Eng, Jr.; brothers: Richard, Roland and William Bloomer; his sister, Eleanor Havens. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro. A traditional Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 209 Takora Trail, Ridgefield, CT 06877. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Carl J.
