Dwight D. Bell - Class of 1975

     Dwight D. Bell, 56 of Newburgh, NY passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014. The son of Lilliam Harris and S.T. Bell Jr., Wane was born on August 31, 1957. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy; he also attended O.C.C.C., studying Business. He was employed at Letchworth Village as a Caseworker and at West Point Cadet Mess Hall. Dwight was president of Hasbrouck and West Parmenter Block Assoc. Dwight had a long history of positive service, commitment, and love for people. He began as one of the first youth at Newburgh's Mt. Carmel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ on Colden St. "Wane" is survived by brother, Carlo I. Harris Sr. of Newburgh; children: Toya Latieff (Yolanda) of KY, Latoya of Newburgh, Lucille of FL, LaKisha (Bryant) of Newburgh, Dwight Jr. (Carla) of Kansas City, MO; Kareina of Atlanta, GA, Starrkeyia of Newburgh; Temptress of Newburgh; aunts: Angel Lewis of Charlotte, NY, Lettie Mae Bell of Sylvester, GA, Rosa Lee Thomas of Cleveland, OH and Pearl Harris of Bronx, NY; nephew, Carlo I. Harris Jr. of Buffalo, NY;grandchildren: Teshawn, Tyribia, Mone', Kayrell, Bryant, Kaleema, Ariyanna, Irviona, Orane, all of Newburgh, Trinity and Imani, both of KY, Jaylen, Jaikorean, Ausjah and Lauren, all of Atlanta, Alexander of FL, Dawann, Laila and Terrick, all of KS; great-granddaughter, Sa'riyah; sisters-in-law: Bertha Dean and Vickie of Newburgh and Mary Ann (Kevin) of Atlanta; cousins; God-sister, Tiombe (Mark) Tallie-Carter of Nyack, NY, and a host of other relatives and friends. Dwight is predeceased by his stepfather, James (Scap) Harris; his wife, Wanda Bell; son, Dwight Smith-Bell and a special friend, Helen Spates. Mr. Bell will lay in repose 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 3rd at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, 1524 Rte. 300, Newburgh with Elder Dr. Thermond Herring officiating. Services begin 7 p.m. at the church. Interment is Thursday, September 4th at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
