Emma-Lou "Pat" Comstock Hamilton - Class of June 1933

     Emma-Lou "Pat" Comstock Hamilton passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the age of 98. Born in Stuyvesant on July 24, 1916, she was the daughter of Morris and Jessie Comstock. She graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1933 and attended Albany State Teachers College (now the University at Albany). In 1938, she moved to New Baltimore and began working for the State of New York. She retired in 1978 as a senior research analyst with the division of parole. She also served in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church and served in many offices and capacities with the Grace United Methodist Church in Ravena. She was also active in the Seraneco chapter of the National Federation of Business & Professional Women's Clubs. Emma-Lou married Harry "Sunny" Hamilton in 1948 and they had been married for 50 years when he predeceased her in 1998. She was also predeceased by a sister, Helen Comstock Beemer and brother, William Comstock. Emma-Lou is survived by two sons, Henry (Dee) Hamilton of Albany and Gordon (Pat) Hamilton of Pottersville; a daughter, Jane Waldron of Purling; grandchildren, Matthew Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, Mark Hamilton, Melissa Hamilton, Miles Hamilton, Greg Corcione, Jennifer Stevens, Lyn Farrell, Jessie Mabee, Andrew Hamilton, Amy Staley, Kelly Cuti and CarrieAnn Waldron. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as sister-in-law, Kathy Porter and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church in Ravena on Monday, September 8 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 16 Hillcrest Drive, Ravena, NY 12143
