Robert C. Gaynor - Class of 1968

      Robert C. Gaynor of Pine Bush, NY, a lifelong resident of the area, died Thursday, September 4, 2014, at home. He was 65. The son of the late Charles Gaynor and Evelyn Sloan Carroll, he was born October 2, 1948 in Newburgh, NY. He retired from Nepera and Pine Bush Central School system. Robert was a Vietnam veteran. He was an avid bowler and fisherman and was a member of the Newburgh Bowling Association. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Sattler Gaynor at home; sister, Barbara Schmidt of Bradenton, FL; nephews, Scott Mackay of New Windsor, NY and Matthew Mackay of New York City; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Sattler of Walden; brothers-in-law, Robert Sattler and Peter Sattler; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Sattler and Mary Sattler; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 7th at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Monday, September 8th, at the funeral home. Pastor Robert Hewitt will officiate. Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550 or the Walden Humane Society, P.O. Box 135, Walden, NY 12586.
