Thelma Karole Green, a longtime resident of New Windsor, entered into rest
September 25, 2014 at St. Luke's-Cornwall Hospital/Newburgh Campus. She was 79.
The daughter of the late Kenneth and Thelma Hiller Green, Karole was born August
11, 1935 in Newburgh. Karole was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and worked
at the United States Military Academy at West Point as an Administrative
Secretary. Karole was a member of the Vail's Gate United Methodist Church, and
was actively involved with the United Methodist Women's Organization.
She is survived by her husband Harold at home, her son, Ken Green, and his wife,
Cinda, two grandsons; Kenny and Kevin, all of Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, October 2, 2014 from
5 to 8 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd., (Rte. 32),
Newburgh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at
Vail's Gate United Methodist Church, 854 Blooming Grove Turnpike, Route 94,
Vails Gate, NY. Pastor Frank Windom will officiate. A reception will follow at
the church. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial will take
place at the West Point Cemetery in the spring.
