Wilma Vandemark Wilkin - Class of 1948

Wilma Vandemark Wilkin of Gardiner, NY, a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014, in Poughkeepsie. She was 84. The daughter of the late Ross S. and Clarice Bayless Vandemark, she was born October 12, 1929 in Newburgh, NY. She was a member of the Reformed Church of Shawangunk, where she was involved in the Faith and Action Committee. She was the past director of the New Hurley Cemetery Association. She also was a past pianist and organist for some local churches over the years. She was the widow of James G. Wilkin. They were married March 10, 1951 at the Gardinertown Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, John Ross Wilkin and his wife, JoAnn and their children: Jennifer, Joshua, and Jamie of Gardiner; son, Thomas Wilkin of Gardiner; daughter, Harriet Wilkin and her husband, James Fisher of Riverside, CA and their daughter, Kristin Puno and her husband, Sean and their daughter, Audrey of Puyallup, WA. She was predeceased by her daughter, Elsie Cornnie Wilkin. Funeral services will be private, in keeping with Wilma's wishes. Her interment will be in the New Hurley Cemetery.
