Roger William Crawshaw - Class of January 1937

       Roger William Crawshaw of the Town of Newburgh entered into rest on Tuesday, September 30,2014 at the age of 97. Roger was born to the latge William R. and Mary Bell Crawshaw on November 9,1916. Roger served our country, first serving in the U.S. Army during WW II, the in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was the owner of Crawshaw Insurance Company. Survivors include his Wife Helen of nearly 69 years, two daughters, Lois Cohen and her husband Mark of VA, and Susan Curtis of KS, four grandchildren, Jennifer Cohen-Cordaro, Lisa Franklin, Ashley Curtis, Leslie Favier, and three great-grandchildren, Daniel, and Ellie Cordaro, and Anna Franklin, Several Nieces and Nephews, Roger was pre-deceased by a brother, Dr. Thomas Crawshaw and a sister, Marie Crawshaw. Roger was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, holding many offices, and teaching Sunday School, he was a member of the West End Business Mens Association. He enjoyed golfing, hiking, cross country skiing, gardening, and the senior olympics. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3,2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Submitted by catherine carbone fiore 1965 <catherinefiore2@yahoo.com> My wonderful Uncle Roger passed this week and he will be greatly missed..He was some guy always a gentleman..always giving with many many many good friends...He lived a long life and most of it was productive and he had the best time everywhere he went...smart and full of life and Kind beyond belief..I will miss you so much as all his family will ..
