Mary Jo Congelosi Vieiro, of the Town of Newburgh, a teaching assistant at the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, entered into rest on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla. She was 55. Daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Bivona) Congelosi, she was born September 2, 1959 in Newburgh, NY. She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Anna Mehmet and her husband Behic, her son, Joseph Vieiro, and her longtime companion, James Gekakis, all of Newburgh; her sister, Lorraine Galage Thompson of Louisville, Kentucky; nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins; the father of her children, Michael Vieiro, and his sister, Gina Hillman and her husband Timothy of Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Road (Route 32), Newburgh. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, 25 South Robinson Avenue, Newburgh, with Father William Scafidi officiating. Burial will be private.
