Raymond A. Briscoe II - Class of 1949

  Raymond A. Briscoe II of the Town of Newburgh and Lakeland, Florida, a retired Industrial Plumber entered into eternal rest on Oct 28, 2014 at the Oakbridge Healthcare Center Lakeland, Florida. He was 84. The son of the late Raymond A. and Mable Briscoe, Raymond was born December 19, 1929 in Brooklyn. He was an US Army Veteran in the 1812 CO H 34TH REGT 24TH Division and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a volunteer member of the Cronomer Valley Fire Dept. and had been member of the plumbers union for over 50 years. He leaves behind 3 children; Raymond A Briscoe III, James E. Briscoe, Nancy Jean Mann; eight grandchildren, and twenty three great-grandchildren. Raymond was predeceased by wife, Phyllis of 59 years and son, Gary. Visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Rte. 32), Newburgh, NY. Funeral service will commence 11 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at the funeral home. Pastor Jeffrey Hooker will officiate. Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
