Anthony Joseph Valentine, of Newburgh, a lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Friday, November 28, 2014 in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 94. Anthony was born April 22, 1920 in Newburgh to Nicholas and Rose (Bontempo) Valentine, who immigrated to America from Carunchio, Italy. He was the past Vice-President of Val-Ron Corporation in Newburgh. The best years of his life were the years he proudly served his country with the US Marines, and the wonderful years he was married to the love of his life, Kathryn (Rehrey) Valentine. Kathryn predeceased Anthony in 1979. He is survived by his three daughters, Kathleen Valentine of Kingston, JoAnne Valentine Simonian and her husband Sarkis of Saugerties, and Judith Bailey and her husband Michael of Saugerties; his brother, Emil Valentine of Newburgh; four grandchildren, David, Alicia, Jason and Katie; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends. In addition to his wife Kathryn, he was predeceased by his son, Anthony Joseph Valentine, Jr. in 1992; and three brothers, Thomas, Nicholas and Joseph Valentine. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, December 1 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, December 2 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Arrangements under the care of Brooks Funeral Home. To send a personal condolence, please visit www.Brooksfh.com or call 845-561-8300.
