Howard Daniel Scofield - Class of 1966

    Howard Daniel Scofield, of the Town of Newburgh, a retired technician for Simplex Grinnell entered into rest Sunday, December 21, 2014 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital/Newburgh Campus surrounded by his family. He was 67. The son of the late Howard J. and Adelaide McStay Scofield, Howard was born December 20, 1947 in Newburgh. Howard was a member of St. Patrick's Church. As a young man in the Boy Scouts of America, he achieved the accomplishment of an Eagle Scout. Howard's love for Christmas and his passion for the decorations he used inside and out the home warmed the hearts of his family and touched so many people over the years. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Wilson Scofield at home, daughters: Danielle Justino and husband, Jeff and Christina Scofield both of Newburgh; close cousins: Nancy Geiger and husband Dick of Florida and Kathy Vitek of Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will take place, Friday, December 26th from 3 to 7 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Route 32), Newburgh, NY. Funeral Mass will be offered 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27th at St. Patrick's Church, 55 Grand St., Newburgh, NY. Monsignor John Budwick will officiate. Cremation will follow the mass at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Howard's memory to St. Patrick's Soup Kitchen, 55 Grand Street, Newburgh 12550.
