Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 23/Dec/2014 Message: Duane Allen Prackelt of Newburgh,NY unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on December 20, 2014 at home. He was 67 years old. Duane was the son of the late Arthur and Catherine (Arnold) Prackelt. Duane graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 1969 and was a member of the Kappa fraternity. Duane went on to teach at NFA in the Newburgh School District for 34 years and retired in 2002. He was very involved with the NFA crew team during his years at NFA and stayed active with the team after his retirement. Duane was an avid hunter and fisherman, passing his love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. He was a Lifetime member of the NRA and was actively involved with many hunting clubs, including the Walden Sportsman’s Club, Black Rock Fish and Game Club, Woodbury Field and Stream Club and the Tri-County Archers. Duane is survived by his loving wife of 46 years at home, Barbara (Gasperetti) Prackelt; his loving children: April Schmick and husband Herb, Duane Prackelt and wife Carla; his grandchildren Jessica Schmick, Alexander Prackelt and Nicholas Prackelt; and his faithful dogs Xena, Lady Remington and Lady Smith. A celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, December 27 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A reception will follow. Replies to this post No replies yet |
