Robert "Bobby" J. Zupitza, Jr. of Newburgh, a laborer for Local 137, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015. He was 30 years old. The son of Robert and Therese (Parrilla) Zupitza Sr., he was born May 13, 1984 in Brooklyn. Bobby will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed Sunday football, sushi, and was a fabulous cook who made an "awesome meat sauce". He enjoyed sports and played on many teams while growing up, including New Windsor soccer, football, and NFA hockey. He graduated from N.F.A. in 2002 (see camera shy) He was employed by Persico Contracting, and when he wasn't working he was with his best friend and father. Bobby was an animal lover and enjoyed a special bond with his pitbull Max "the white rat". Bobby is survived by his heartbroken family, his parents, Robert and Therese of Newburgh; his loving younger siblings, Dana, Joseph and John; his loving grandmothers, Anne Zupitza and Jacquelin Parrilla; his girlfriend, Lindsay Lemons; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Joseph Parrilla and Joseph Zupitza. Bobby was a son, a brother, a grandson, a cousin, and a friend. His presence lit up the lives of so many. He fought his addiction so hard but lost the battle. God needed a new angel to light up the sky. Your light will shine in our hearts forever and you will be terribly missed, but most of all "always' loved. Rest peacefully our angel, until we meet again. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 5 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with Father John Vondras officiating. Arrangements under the care of Brooks Funeral Home. To send a personal condolence, please visit www.Brooksfh.com or call 845-561-8300.
