Chris Bowe - Class of 1976

     Chris Bowe age 56, loving father, brother and son, passed away to live with the Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2015. Born on April 19, 1958 in Newburgh, NY, he was a son of Thomas and Mary Bowe. Chris graduated from Newburgh Free Academy and Orange County Community College. He had a very active life in New York participating in various athletic endeavors. He worked at the IBM Corp. in White Plains, NY and New York City as a Global Networking Specialist and then in Sterling Forest, NY for 20 years. He moved to South Carolina in 2001 and worked as an independent landscaper. Chris was a friendly and outgoing person who loved to talk with anyone and made friends with everyone he made contact with. He shared a passion for music with his daughter and they spent many hours watching movies and laughing together. Surviving in addition to his parents of Surfside Beach is the love of his life, daughter, Kaila A. Bowe of Conway; a sister, Lisa Ricci and her husband, Joseph of Walkill, NY; two brothers: Michael T. Bowe and partner, Barry Opdyke of Palm Desert, CA, and Thomas J. Bowe and his wife, Michelle of Newbrugh, NY; two nephews: Reese and Logan Bowe, both of Newburgh, NY. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 12th at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
