Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 10/Feb/2015 Message: Eleanor (Ellie) Haloviak Sicolo, of Newburgh, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, entered into rest on Friday, February 6, 2015. She was 69. Wife of Anthony Sicolo and daughter of the late Basil and Irene Haloviak, she was born on September 30, 1945 in Newburgh, New York. Ellie graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1963 and worked for four years as a secretary at West Point. She then dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family. Ellie was a talented crafter—having mastered knitting, crochet, and ceramics. She then turned her attention to traveling and traveled to Singapore, throughout Europe, and the US with her husband. Ellie was well known for her love of shopping, fine collectables, perfume and fashion. She was also an avid reader and will be so deeply missed by all of us. Ellie is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Anthony Sicolo of Newburgh; her three adoring children: James Sicolo of Santa Clara, CA, her daughter Janet Mayo of Wells, NY and her daughter Jennifer FitzPatrick and husband Robert, of New Hampton, NY; her two siblings: Berton Haloviak and wife Mary of Riverside, CA and sister Jean Hart of Seattle, WA. She is predeceased by her sister Marie Gearn of Newburgh, NY. Ellie derived great enjoyment from her five grandchildren: Natalie Mayo (19), Joseph Mayo (18), Olivia Mayo (15), Ryan FitzPatrick (6), and Kelsey FitzPatrick (3). A private service for the family will be held on February 15. Replies to this post No replies yet |
