Vincent Allessandro, of the Town of Newburgh, a retired butcher and 50 year
resident of the area, peacefully entered into rest on Saturday, January 24, 2015
at home with his adoring family by his side. He was 64. Son of the late Michael
and Gertrude (Sorice) Allessandro, he was born July 31, 1950 in Queens, NY. He
married his loving wife Patricia on May 20, 1973. Patricia survives at
home. John was a beloved and dedicated family man and a great friend to many. He
was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed coaching baseball and watching the New York
Rangers. He was an avid bass fisherman and proud long-time member of the Orange
Lake Fish & Game Association. His most precious moments were shared with his
wife, children, and especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, at home; his daughter, Michele Walsh and
her husband Adam, and his son, Michael Allessandro and his wife Alyssa, all of
the Town of Newburgh; his sister, Felice Gambino and her husband Robert of New
Windsor; grandchildren, Maya and Gianna Allessandro and AJ Walsh; and several
nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, January 29
at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 11
am on Friday, January 30 at Brooks Funeral Home, with Father William Scafidi
officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Memorial
donations in honor of John may be sent to American Brain Tumor Assn., 8550 W.
