June 30, 1949 - February 26, 2015 Macon, GA- , 65, died Thursday, February 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, on Monday, March 2nd at 11 o'clock. The Rev. Jarred Hammet will officiate, and burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Milledgeville, Georgia at 2:30 PM. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made the American Cancer Society , 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201, or the organization of your choice. Mr. Thomas Sulkers was born in Newburgh, New York, to the late George and Viola Aluise Sulkers. He enlisted in the United States Army/USAR in November of 1968. After 32 years, he retired as Sergeant First Class, having earned several medals and service related commendations. Mr. Sulkers was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, and a life member of VFW Post 973,Newburgh, New York, where he proudly served as Orange County Commander. His dedication to service and country continued through his active involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. Surviving SFC Sulkers are his wife of 38 years, Sharon Poole Sulkers; daughter, Jessica Sulkers; sons, Jason Sulkers, and Joshua (Virginia) Sulkers; brother, George (Joyce) Sulkers.
