  Donald E. Harris was a lifelong area resident. He entered into rest at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital- Newburgh Campus on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. He was 83 years old. He was born June 5, 1931 in Newburgh, New York. He was the son of Earl and Ida Duzenbury Harris. Both parents predeceased their son. He was married to Bessie Conley Ferguson Harris. Donald worked for the New York State Park Police, Bear Mountain, NY for fifty plus years. Survivors include: his step-sons: Gary Ferguson and his wife, Janet of the Town of Newburgh, NY, Alan Ferguson of Phonecia, NY, and Ernest Ferguson and his fiance, Michelle Hacker of New Windsor, NY; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Harris. A special thank you from Donald's entire family to the entire third floor north staff at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital- Newburgh Campus. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Engel Funeral Home, Inc., 5319 Rt. 9W, Newburgh, (Middlehope) NY. Family and friends will gather for a service at 10 a.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel in Cedar Hill Cemetery Newburgh, NY on Friday, March 13, 2015. Burial will immediately follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
