James G. Partington, a 27-year resident of the area, formerly of Walden, NY passed away peacefully on March 28, 2015 in his home in Port Saint Lucie, FL at age 80. He was the owner of Partington Homes Construction and the builder of Gateway East Apartments in Maybrook, NY. He served in United States Army and he was elected as a trustee of the Village of Maybrook. He also served on the industrial committee in the Town of Montgomery and a former member of Osiris Country Club in Walden. Growing up in Newburgh, NY he enjoyed his memories of the YMCA and playing basketball. Most recently he enjoyed playing racquetball at the Civic Center in Port Saint Lucie. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a friend to many. He will be remembered for his larger than life personality and great sense of humor. Forever a handy man, his tool pouch was always by his side. Jim is survived by his wife Carmella Iorlano Partington of 54 years, daughter Jamie Partington Hall, and James Partington Jr. He was a devoted and proud Poppop to his three grandchildren Steven, Brian and Casey Hall of Pennsylvania. Known adoringly as "Big Jim" he will be greatly missed by his in-laws, nieces, and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his siblings Tom Partington and Don Partington. He was predeceased by his brothers David and Silas Partington. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice House at Midway Road, 5090 Dunn Road Fort Pierce, FL. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
