Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 26/Apr/2015 Message: John H. Graham passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, NY on April 25, 2015. He was 96 years old. He was born to Harry and Stella Hayes Graham in Newburgh on April 9, 1919. John was a graduate of NFA in January 1938. He was awarded the Lion's Club watch for athletics and school cooperation. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in May 1939 and retired in July 1959 as Chief Petty Officer. He worked at and retired from the Civilian Finance Office, United States Military Academy, West Point. He then worked for and retired from the Manheim Auto Auction. John was a member of the New Windsor Seniors Club. He was member of the Fleet Reserve Branch 229, New Windsor, NY. "Pop" was a quiet, kind and honorable man. He lived a long, happy life and would not want anyone to be sad at his passing. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Danielle Reyes, the folks at Mid-Hudson Managed Home Care and all of Pop's wonderful neighbors for their kindness and support. John is survived by his son, John "Chipper" Graham and his wife, Judy of Wallkill; nephew, Bill Graham and his wife, Becky of North Carolina; and his beloved cat, Salem. He was predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Elaine Wager Graham. Graveside Services will be held at 10am on Wednesday April 29th at the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Route 52, Walden, NY 12586. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in Pop's name to The Hudson Valley SPCA, 940 Little Britain Rd., New Windsor, NY 12553.
