Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 11/May/2015 Message: George Morrill, of Newburgh, a former printer for Commercial Offset Printers in New Windsor and a lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Sunday, May 10, 2015. He was 85. The son of the late James V. Morrill Sr. and Florence (Welch) Morrill, he was born January 27, 1930 in Newburgh. He married Regina Morrill in St. George's Episcopal Church in Newburgh on September 1, 1950. Regina predeceased him in 2006. George attended Newburgh Schools and was a 1947 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. He was a past member of Black Rock Bassbusters, Orange Lake Fish & Game Association, Scott's Corner Golf Club, Newburgh Fast Pitch Hall of Fame, and Tarsio Bowling Lanes Leagues. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Ann Morrill and partner DeeDee Pickering of Newburgh and Lori Jean Brinkman and Bruce Brinkman and granddaughter Gina Augusta Brinkman; sister-in-law Janet Morrill; nieces and nephews, Joanne McDonough, Judy Kaehne, James Morrill III, John Morrill and Gary Moores; and best four-legged friend, Sophie.. In addition to his wife Regina, he was predeceased by his sister, Augusta Moores and his brother, James V. Morrill Jr. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday, May 13 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY. A service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 14 in St. George's Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
