Selma Posner Cohn, age 94, died Friday, May 22, 2015 in Highland, NY with family and friends by her side. She was born June 16, 1920 in New London, CT, the daughter of Leon and Sarah Posner. Selma graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. She was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Lester Cohn of Modena, NY. Selma enjoyed singing, dancing, preparing delicious meals for her family and working for local charities. She was a founding member of the Jewish Congregation of New Paltz and a lifetime member of Hadassah. She worked with her husband for many years at Stanley Orchards, in Modena, NY. Surviving her are two sons: Stanley Cohn and his wife, Stacey of Scotch Plains, NJ and Ron Cohn and his wife, Lois of Gardiner, NY; a brother, Herb Posner and his wife, Betty Jean of Cedar Park, TX; grandchildren: Shaun Cohn, Ryan Cohn and his wife, Regina, Evan Cohn and his wife, Anna, Jennifer Garcia and her husband, Brian, Sarah Cohn, Zachary Cohn and Jordan Cohn; great grandchildren: Anthony Cohn, Elijah and Sophie Garcia. Her older brother Saul and his wife, Sylvia predeceased her. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m on Tuesday, May 26th at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz. Friends may call at shiva services on Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the home of Ron and Lois Cohn in Gardiner, NY.
