Sandra L. Rayford Mims - Class of 1972

    Sandra L. Rayford Mims of Mint Hill, NC passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at home. She was surrounded by her family. Sandra was the daughter of the late Leb and Louise Smith Rayford, and was born on May 11, 1953, in Jenkinjones, West Virginia. As a young child, she relocated to Newburgh, NY with her family where she resided for many years. She is survived by her loving husband Larry Mims; two daughters Kyona Boulware (Anthony) of NC and Kendra Applewhite (Rickey) of IL; son Breon Mims (Trineka) of NC; grandchildren Semira Bonner, Jabari Bonner and Damareon Mims, all of NC. In addition, she leaves her two sisters, Gladys Rayford of VA and Loretta Freeman of NY; two brothers, Maxwell Rayford and Irving Rayford, both of NY; mother-in-law Eunice Mims of NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts and friends. Sandra was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers Henry Rayford Sr. and Leb Rayford Jr. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at The Park Church, 6029 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216. Her home Going and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday at 11:00 at The Park Church immediately following the visitation. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Mint Hill
