Alan Jackson - Class of 1965

      Alan Jackson, age 60, of Algona, died on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Wilson-Lentz Funeral Home in Algona, with Rev. Kevin Hollinger officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time Saturday at the Wilson-Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Alan David Jackson, the son of Chester and Jeanne (Deyo) Jackson, was born on April 16, 1947, in Newburgh, New York. He graduated from Newburgh High School in 1965. He received an Associate Degree from Orange County Community College. Alan was united in marriage with Madge Tillson on June 6, 1998 in Destin, Florida. He had worked as a shop foreman for Mott Signs in Niceville, Florida and then for Landmark Signs in Montgomery, Alabama. Alan enjoyed reading and working with computers. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife Madge Jackson of Algona; two daughters, Elizabeth McVeigh and her husband Mike of Newburgh, NY, and Amy Mercurio of Rochester, NY; a step daughter, Naomi Moore and Mark s*** of Algona; a step son, Nick Moore and his fiancé Andrea Clausen of Fenton; three grandchildren, Colleen McVeigh, Nicholas Mercurio, and Aiden Clausen; and a sister, Jill Doty and her husband Jay of Duanesburg, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
