Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 20/Jul/2015 Message: Edward Buckwald of Newburgh entered into rest on Monday, July 20,2015 at the age of 94. He was the beloved son of Rose and Max Buckwald, born on January 23,1921. Edward was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 1937. He then attended Eastman business School in New York City. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1942, immediately after Pearl Harbor, he attended Officers Candidate School, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania and graduated in December 1942. Serving at Clovis Army Air Force Hospital Base in Clovis, NM and with 6th Stations Hospital at Ft. Lewis Washington and in the Pacific Arena. Edward was discharged in March 1946 with Rank of Captain. He worked for Forty Years as a Sales Representative and Territory Manager for Emdo Laboratories and Dupont Pharmaceuticals, Retiring in 1988. Edward was a member of Congregation Agudas Israel in Newburgh and served three years as President, Life member of American Legion. He is survived by his loving wife Blanche Buckwald, Daughter Dr. Sharon Buckwald and sister Anita Warburg. He is also survived by his children Robin and spouse Allen, Susan and spouse Rob, Marsha, Holly and spouse Paul, 8 Grandchildren and 7 great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22,2015 at 1:00 PM at Congregation Agudas Israel, 290 North St. Newburgh, NY 12550. Burial will follow in Congregation Agudas Israel Cemetery.
