Abraham "Abe" Frazier was born on January 3, 1947 in Elizabethtown, North Carolina to Lucille and Henry Frazier. The Lord called him home on July 22, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by family. Abraham was well known for his exceptional athletic abilities. As a child, he played Little League baseball for the Bogill Pony League and went on to become co-captain of both the football and basketball teams at Newburgh Free Academy High School where he graduated as the "All American Athlete" for basketball in 1966. Abraham attended Albany State University for his postsecondary education, and was later drafted into the United States Air Force where he served as a MP (Military Police) Officer. While serving his country, Abe continued to display his love of sports by becoming the co-captain of the Air Force football team during his service in Yokota, Japan. Abe eventually retired as a plumber in New York City, and was a great lover of music. Abraham leaves to cherish his beloved mother who he so greatly adored, Mother Lucille Frazier of Knightdale, NC; ex-wife, Lorraine Frazier of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Damon of St. Louis, MO and Jason of Bronx, NY; three daughters, Tamika Best Meeks of Seattle, WA, Shetina of St. Louis, MO, and Jasmine of Harlem, NY; and one step-son, Darryl Thomas; two brothers, Lawrence (Brenda) of Butner, NC and George (Lenora) of Newburgh, NY; four sisters, Carol Jackson (deceased, Larry) of Raleigh, NC, Linda Frazier (Brett) of Fayetteville, NC, Emily Blue (John) of Raleigh, NC, and Alice Jones (Adolph) of Knightdale, NC; four grandchildren; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, friends and a loyal friend, Charles Buie. Abraham was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Henry Frazier, and three brothers: John Henry, Edward Leon, and Thurman Rudolph. Mr. Frazier will lay in repose 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2015 at The Cathedral At The House of Refuge, 131 Broadway, Newburgh, NY. Bishop Jeffrey C. Woody will officiate.
