Siltz, Jr., of Newburgh, NY, a retired Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and longtime area resident, entered into rest on August 7, 2015 at home. He was 79. Son of the late Leo R. Siltz, Sr. and Mary V. (Rose) Siltz, he was born January 13, 1936 in Lake Placid, NY. He was married to Nancy (VanDuzer) Siltz on December 2, 1956 in Sacred Hearct Church in Newburgh. Nancy survives at home. Leo was an avid Mets and Giants fan, but his favorite pastime was spending time with family, and he especially looked forward to holidays together. He enjoyed telling stories about his childhood and growing up in Newburgh. We are devastated at his sudden and unexpected passing and will miss him dearly. In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his son Anthony of Milford, PA; daughter Donna and son-in-law Gerald Giametta of Marlboro; and son Thomas and daughter-in-law Carine of Clayton, NC; sister-in-law Beverly and brother-in-law David MacEntee of Beacon; Grandchildren, Tara (husband Greg) Bello, Danielle Siltz, Ashley (husband Mauro) Sanchez, Toni-Marie Siltz (partner Francis Caceres), Anthony & Christopher Giametta, Michael, Timothy, Matthew, Stephen & Alicia Siltz; Great Grandchildren, Jesse & Gianna Bello, Dylan & Elena Sanchez, and Olivia Caceres; Nieces & Nephews, Angela & David MacEntee; and his beloved dog, Teddy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son Mark, and his mother and father-in-law Ethel and Quentin DeGraw. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Monday, August 10 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, August 11 in Sacred Heart Church, 301 Ann Street, Newburgh, Father Andy Kurzyna officiating. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum. 5468 Rt. 9W, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
