Message:

Carmella Rosalie Ruotolo Moroney, a Newburgh, New York native passed away peacefully at home. Born in Newburgh on February 19, 1928 Carmella was the daughter of Clementina (Calcagno) and Francesco Ruotolo. Carmella was a graduate of NFA and in June 1947 married Jim Moroney. After Jim returned from serving in the Korean War they purchased the local Harley Davidson dealership in 1956; grew to be one of the biggest Schwinn bicycle dealers in the area all of which began the legacy of Jim Moroney's Harley Davidson which is a successful business today through Carmella's devotion and love for her husband, son and family business. Carmella was well known in the area for her beautiful singing voice singing in local clubs and church choirs throughout her life. Jim was so proud of her singing and loved to hear her sing their special song, “I'll Be Loving You Always.” She was always eager to sing even singing her favorite song “It Had To Be You” last week while riding in the car. She loved getting dressed up complete with makeup and jewelry, looking more beautiful with age. She looked forward to Sunday visits playing cards with her sisters and nephew Dean. Any visits from her son Pat always filled her with joy. Carmella was loved by everyone for her sweetness, kindness and love for life, laughter, song and dance. The family would like to thank Kathleen McPhillips, Tracey McPhillips, Jennifer Boothe, Lena Tague, Patty Maltz, and all those who helped care for Carmella with love and devotion for the past five years. She was well cared for, loved, happy, peaceful and content and that is how she left this life. Carmella is survived by her son, Patrick Moroney of Newburgh; her grandchildren Jennifer and husband Kyle Lundgren of Boca Raton, Florida; James Moroney of Wallkill New York, and great grandson Chase Lundgren. She is survived by her sisters Jenny Catania, Frances Zambito, Rachel Fitzgibbons, June McKnight and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Anna MeKeel and brother Francis Ruotolo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18,2015 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at the Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. 318 N. Montgomery St. Newburgh, NY 12550 A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, august 19,2915 at 11:00Am at Sacred Heart Church, Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. www.DoulinFH.com
