Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 23/Aug/2015 Message: Melville Palmer Jr., 90, of New Windsor, NY died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his son's home in Bemidji. Services are pending in Bemidji, and New Windsor, NY. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji is assisting with arrangements. He was born on September 11, 1924, in Newburgh, NY, the son of Melville Sr. and Helen (Alsdorf) Palmer. He was raised and educated in Newburgh, graduating from Newburgh High School, (see camera shy). He attended school and became certified in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He married Doris Everett and together they had two sons. He worked for Mid-Hudson refrigeration in Newburgh as a foreman. He later worked for Washingtonville Central High School until his retirement. He was a member of CSEA State workers organization. He enjoyed hunting, and loved to go sailing. He is survived by his sons: Terry David (Nellie M.) Palmer of Bemidji and Neal Thomas (Diane) Palmer of New Windsor, NY; grandchildren: Thomas M. Palmer of New Windsor, NY, Craig D. Palmer of Bemidji, MN, Sara E. (Robert) Johnson of Taylors Falls, MN, Steven J. Palmer of Bemidji, great-grandchildren: Wiley Johnson of Taylors Falls, MN, and Kyle Johnson of Taylors Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Palmer, and his sister, Justine Brundage. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26th in the Bethleham Cemetery, Cornwall, NY. Arrangements under the care of Thomas A. Murray of the David T.
