Katherine Stepski “Tonie” McCauley, of Branford, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Backus Hospital in Norwich. Tonie was born April 29, 1938 in Cornwall, N.Y., daughter of the late Leo and Catherine Berard Stepski. She was a stay at home mom and then worked as a Quality Assurance Supervisor for CAS Medical in Branford for 24 years, until retiring in 2010. Tonie was a member of the Canoe Brook Senior Center and enjoyed her many trips with fellow seniors, especially those to the casino. She greeted each day with love and adventure and was an inspiration to all - old friends and new acquaintances. She is survived by her children, Joseph, Marie, and James McCauley, all of Branford; her grandchildren, Tina, Diane and Caitlin McCauley; a sister, Ina Hamblin of Marlboro, N.Y., her favorite brother in law, Bobby David McCauley of Nashville, TN, and many other beloved family members. Relatives and friends may call Thursday evening from 4-6 P.M., with a prayer service at 6:00 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
