Helen Donahue Gage, of Orange Lake, Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on August 25, 2015 at Glen Arden in Goshen, NY. She was 100 years old. The daughter of the late John and Mary Jackson Donahue, Helen was born on July 13, 1915 in Newburgh, NY. Helen was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and later married Snyder J. Gage Jr. at the end of World War II. As a homemaker, Helen always put family first and was a lifelong caregiver to family members, both young and old. She was the matriarch of the family and was well known for her infectious laugh and radiant smile. At her recent 100th Birthday celebration, Helen enjoyed the presence of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who all helped her enjoy that wonderful occasion. Survivors include her children, Sheila Nugent and husband, Arthur of the Town of Newburgh, Sharon Tarolli and husband, John of Pine Bush, NY; grandchildren, Trisha Nugent Fitzgerald and husband Jeff of Riverdale, NY; Ryan Gage Nugent and wife Molly of Tampa, Florida and Jay Gage Tarolli of Pine Bush, NY; and great grandchildren; Lyla, Sienna Nugent, Cara, Emily Fitzgerald; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen was predeceased in 2004 by her husband, Snyder J. Gage Jr. whom she married on January 23, 1945 and by her siblings: Jack Donahue, Anna Donahue Ciaccio, and Marie Donahue McCaffrey. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Glen Arden for making Helen's past ten years of residence there so comfortable and enjoyable. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Please make donations in Helen's memory to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, 125 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY.
