Irene "Rene" Condit DeRobertis Grieco - Class of 1949

    Irene "Rene" Condit DeRobertis Grieco, of Wallkill, a lifetime resident of the area, entered into rest on Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was 84. Daughter of the late Loyal and Dora (Lewis) Condit, she was born December 14, 1930 in Newburgh. She was married to the late Albert DeRobertis and the late Ernest Grieco. Rene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook and read, and was known for her delicious meatballs. She was loved by everyone for her sweetness, generosity, and love for life. She had a special place in her heart for her kitty cats. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Parish, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Rosary Society and the '49ers Club from NFA. She is survived by her children, Judy Shahbazian and husband Warren of Allentown, NJ, Albert DeRobertis Jr. and his companion June of New Paltz, and Jeffrey DeRobertis and his wife Kathy of Wallkill; grandchildren, Melissa Schreibel, Amy Felten, Gary Felten Jr., Sarah, Hannah, and Nicole DeRobertis; great-grandchildren, Colleen Bird, Alicia Ernissee, Christopher Ernissee Jr., Bri-ann Conners, Jenna and Stephen Moskwa; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, September 2 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, September 3 at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
