Philip (Felice) Angelo Tarallo, born June 25, 1953, passed away on September 8, 2015. He leaves behind his wonderful wife of 31 years, Sandra M. Tarallo and five fantastic children - Cory A. Tarallo, Gina M. Nolan and her husband, Joseph W. Nolan, Scott Schroeder and his wife, Tina Schroeder, Heather M. Tarallo and David B. Tarallo. He is also survived by two beloved grandchildren, Kyle and Luke Nolan. Philip was born to Joseph Tarallo and Caroline Tarallo nee Lecce in West Point, NY. His family was extremely large and charismatic. The Tarallo clan consists of Tullio and Catherine Tarallo, Roseann Coakley, Carol-Jean and Sam Russo, Katherine and Dominico Citta, Joann Tarallo and William Perez, Theresa and Charles Riddle, Felicia Lecce and Kim Farrier. The family also includes David and Janice Rompala, as well as countless loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a multitude of friends (all of which he considered family). If we were to name them all, we would need an entire page. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph and Caroline Tarallo; his aunt and uncle, Joan and Angelo Lecce; his uncle, Richard Tarallo and his niece, Nicole Rompala. Philip was larger than life, loved wherever he was and wherever he wasn't. He cared for others more than himself with a smile on his face. He had a way about him that made you feel like family, whether you were friend or a stranger. He played the role of Santa Claus for his family with such conviction that his nieces and nephews were convinced Santa Claus had a big Italian nose. Philip loved meeting new people and socializing whether at work or just in passing, he valued a good conversation above all else with whoever would listen. The door to his home was always open to any passer in the night, something that allowed his legend spread through the area. He would give you the shirt off his back and never ask for anything in return. It was always a struggle to get him to let you pay for your own dinner. If you knew Philip, you knew he worried about everyone before himself, though he drove you crazy in the process. He was a proud veteran of United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Era and separating honorably from the Intelligence Community. There will be a Memorial Service on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 468 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550 (additional parking off Van Ness St). Please enter through the main doors on Broadway. The ceremony will be held at 5p.m. with an open forum to remember and share stories of Philip's profound life. Philip was an extremely unselfish man so it's only right that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Wounded Warriors in Philip's name. http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.aspx (See Camera Shy) Replies to this post No replies yet |
