Ruth Lynn Price - Class of June 1944

  Ruth Lynn Price of the Town of Fishkill/Chelsea Hills formerly of Newburgh entered her eternal rest on September 15, 2015 at home. She was 88. Born on October 4, 1926 in Newburgh to the late Edgar and Mary Jane MacLaughlin Lynn. Ruth grew up in Newburgh and attended and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. After graduation she attended New Paltz State Teachers College graduating in 1948. Upon her graduation she went to teach in the Nanuet and Walton School Districts. On June 30, 1950 she married the love of her life, Thomas Andrew Price of Walton in Newburgh. When her youngest child was old enough to attend school, Ruth went back to teaching first grade at Fishkill Elementary School from 1962-1985. She was a lifelong member of the Coldenham-Newburgh Reformed Presbyterian Church. Ruth had a wonderful letter writing and birthday card ministry to many people who crossed her path. She was known as "Granny Price" by many. Ruth is survived by her loving children Thomas A. Price, Jr., of Beaver Falls, PA, Steven D. Price and his wife Elsie of Nicosia, Cyprus, and Rick Price and his wife Gigi of Elmira, and her daughter in law, Alice Price of Beaver Falls, cherished grandchildren Jonathan Price and his wife Meagan, Stephanie Martinez and her husband Alex, Matthew Price, Jennifer Nolfi and her husband Jeff, Nicholas, Mellios, Irena and Sophia Price, Zachary Price-Beecher and his wife Kelby and Anna Price. Great-grandchildren Ella, Joshua, and Samuel Price, Gaby and Lina Martinez. Ruth is also survived by her Best Friend "Aunt" Marie Walsh. She was preceded in death in 1986 by and now joyfully reunited with her loving husband, Andy Price, her brother and sister in law Emerson and Bernice Lynn and her lifelong friend Arlene Levien. Friends may call on Saturday from 10-11am at Coldenham-Newburgh Reformed Presbyterian Church, 469 Coldenham Road, Walden, NY. A Funeral Service will follow at 11am at the church with internment to follow in Coldenham Cemetery.
